REMUS 600 TRIALS IN AUSTRALIA

For two weeks in July 06 the Royal Australian Navy hosted UUV trials in Jervis Bay, Australia, utilizing the REMUS 600.  The Office of Naval Research (ONR) provided the use of their REMUS 600 UUV for the duration of the trials.  Personnel from the Royal Australian Navy, the Australian Defense Science and Technology Organization, ONR, the US Navy Naval Special Warfare Center in Panama City, Penn State ARL, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, and Hydroid participated in the trials.

UDT EUROPE 2006, GERMANY

Kevin McCarthy, Hydroid’s VP of marketing, and Jack Crosby, one of Hydroid’s senior operations technicians represented Hydroid at the Undersea Defence Technology conference. The UDT conference was held in Hamburg, Germany June 27-29, 2006 and was well attended. Hydroid showcased its latest product offerings to the industry, the REMUS 600 and the REMUS 6000. Hydroid now has AUV technology suitable for virtually any depth in the world’s oceans.

REMUS TRIALS IN PORTUGAL

During May 2006 Kevin McCarthy, Hydroid’s VP of marketing, and Jack Crosby, one of Hydroid’s senior operations technicians journey to Portugal to participate in AUV trials conducted by the Portuguese Navy. Hydroid’s representative in Portugal, Vortice Lda, provided invaluable logistical support to Hydroid throughout the trials.  The REMUS trials run off the coast of Troia, Portugal, were a complete success.

CAL POLY STATE UNIVERSITY VISITED HYDROID FACILITY IN MARCH 2006

Dr. Mark Moline and research assistant Ian Robbins from the California Polytechnic State University visited Hydroid in March 2006 to participate in Factory Acceptance Testing of a REMUS system. The system, owned and operated by Dr. Moline, was at Hydroid undergoing extensive enhancements.

OCEANOLOGY INTERNATIONAL 2006, LONDON

Hydroid’s president, Christopher von Alt, and vice president of marketing, Kevin McCarthy, represented Hydroid at the Oceanology conference.  The three day conference was well attended and provided an excellent venue for Hydroid to introduce its latest product offerings to the industry, the REMUS 600 and the REMUS 6000. Hydroid now has AUV technology suitable for virtually any depth in the world’s oceans.

REMUS AT AUV FEST 2005

Hydroid's REMUS AUV took part in the annual AUV Fest hosted by the National Unmanned Undersea Vehicle Test & Evaluation Center (NUTEC) at NUWC Division, Keyport, WA, June 6-16, 2005.

REMUS TRIALS IN GERMANY

During October 2004 Hydroid’s customer support manager, Eric Gifford, spent a week in Germany providing technical support for REMUS trials conducted in the Baltic Sea.
