(June 1, 2003. East Falmouth,
MA.) Hydroid Inc. has announced the hiring of former
Woods Hole Group Inc. Vice President, Kevin McCarthy,
as Hydroid’s Vice President of Marketing.
Over the past 26 years, Mr. McCarthy
has held various managerial positions within the international
oceanographic industry, including V.P. Sales and Marketing
at the Woods Hole Group, and V.P. Sales and Marketing
at Benthos, Inc.
McCarthy will be responsible for all
sales and marketing strategies at Hydroid. “Kevin
McCarthy’s extensive management experience and
expertise in international marketing of oceanographic
products will enable Hydroid to accelerate its growth
into the international community. I worked with Kevin
for fifteen years at Benthos and look forward to working
with him again,” stated Hydroid’s president,
Ken Jordan.
McCarthy has also worked for Klein
Associates in Salem, New Hampshire, and the National
Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in both Woods
Hole, MA, and St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. McCarthy
graduated in 1977 from Northeastern University in Boston,
MA with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, and
in 1992 he completed a Masters in Business Administration
(MBA) at Suffolk University in Boston, MA.
Hydroid Inc. holds the exclusive license
from the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution for the
manufacture and further development of the REMUS Autonomous
Underwater Vehicle (AUV) technology.
