Hydroid is pleased to announce the
recent hiring of John Duchesney for the position of
Software Engineer.
John has over eighteen years experience
working in the oceanographic industry designing and
supporting oceanographic products with embedded software.
John brings a solid background in underwater acoustics
to Hydroid and has previously been responsible for managing
the design of CTDs, current meters, acoustic releases,
and underwater modems. He has also developed navigational
systems for Autonomous Underwater Vehicles.
He was most recently with Falmouth
Scientific, where he was employed as their Engineering
Manager. John has held previous engineering positions
at both Datasonics in Cataumet, MA, as well as Advanced
Instruments in Norwood MA. He holds a BSET and BSEE
from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, Massachusetts.
Commenting on the hiring of Mr. Duchesney
Hydroid’s v.p. of marketing Kevin McCarthy stated,
“John brings a unique skill set that combines
windows programming abilities, and experience working
in a manufacturing environment. Hydroid anticipates
having over one hundred REMUS systems in the field in
2006. John’s contributions will be needed to design
new features, support manufacturing and sea testing,
and to assist in providing the high quality of after
sales service and support that we demand of our growing
